Employee Spotlight: Gabrielle Michael

Gabrielle “Gab” Michael

Began working at Blessings International:

Customer service representative for accounts beginning with letters I-Z

If you had to compare yourself to a TV-show character, who would you be, and why?

Temperance Brennan from Bones because she’s bold, smart, kindhearted, and just, and she doesn’t get social queues.

Describe the part you play at Blessings:

I review each order to make sure the documents I receive are in compliance with the legal structures provided by the Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy. I speak to a lot of our customers daily regarding the details of their missions, and I help answer the phones to address various questions.

What is your favorite aspect of your job?

My favorite aspect of my job is being able to pray openly with my co-workers and host the all-powerful, healing, loving presence of God.

For example, one day, a co-worker’s side started hurting. I empathized and said, “I’m sorry; I wish there was something I could do.” Then I remembered that there was something I could do! “WAIT! I’ll pray for you!” Later on, she told me that the pain had left and she didn’t even realize it!

Where have you served in a missional capacity?

Japan! I went to a family camp in Hokkaido and visited kindergarten schools in the small town areas. We used Santa, his reindeer, and a clown (me) to teach kids about Jesus.

Where/How would you like to serve in the future?

I am called to the nation of Japan. I’d like to have a whole ministry there across the land.

What was your last staff devotional about?

Mine was just last week! I spoke about Jehovah Nacham: the Lord is my Comforter.

What is your best memory here at Blessings?

My staff birthday gathering! I had only been working here for a month and was still nervous. Everyone was not only accommodating but joyous and involved, and I loved laughing with everyone!
