We’re honored to share a remarkable story from our friends at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church and their annual July mission in Ensenada, Mexico.

People come from far and wide to seek treatment for maladies at the annual Ensenada mission trip, organized by St. Barnabas and their partners.

“One morning, a man was riding his motorcycle on his way to work when his life took a sudden turn. In one moment, an accident left him with a painful, untreated broken arm. Desperate for help, he sought treatment at the local hospital, where he was given nothing more than an ace bandage. No proper care, no hope for healing.

Luckily, the annual ministry is well known in the community, so with ease, he found his way to where our volunteer ER doctor was working. He immediately recognized the severity of the injury.

The team made full use of the resources to fashion this makeshift counterweight while the man with the broken arm received treatment.

With the help of a gracious host pastor and after an x-ray, a plan was set. The doctor carefully re-broke the man’s arm, correcting the damage that had previously been overlooked. With the assistance of local nurses, traction was applied, using makeshift weights crafted from hydrogen peroxide and rubbing alcohol bottles strung together. It was an innovative solution for a critical need.

As the patient realized that his arm was being set correctly and that he would make full use of it again, gratitude poured from him. It wasn’t just about his physical healing—it was about restoring hope, dignity, and the future he thought he’d lost.”

This, friends, is a marvelous example of why we do what we do! Through your support, we’re able to send life-changing care to those in desperate need, making an impact that lasts in eternity’s eyes.
